The Thoth Tarot was designed by the famous occult philosopher Aleister Crowley. His artistic executant was Frieda, Lady Harris who painted the cards in the early years of WWll from 1938 to 1942. lady Harris had to paint several versions of some cards before Crowley approved me. Although she knew little about the Tarot or it’s symbolism, her artistic genius brought Crowleys visions and designs to life. The resulting deck succeeds in expressing his esoteric ideas and teachings making them accessible to everyone. The first appeared in Crowleys last masterwork, The Book of Thoth (1944), and were first published as a set of printed cards in 1971.
